Sherpa RollerTop brings all the benefits of the Sherpa platform in a compact format with conveyor attached on top. This gives customers end to end automation for moving bins or totes. The 3D LiDAR advantage allows Sherpa Rollertop to navigate without any aids or markers in highly dynamic environments. Precision Docking (2 cm) enables autonomous loading and offloading with conveyors. The bot handles challenging floor conditions including grated steel flooring or chipped cement flooring as found in many warehouses.
Sherpa RollerTop moves 2 totes carrying up to 50 kg in total. The typical use case is a conveyor connect: pick totes from one conveyor and drop on to another. One can think of the the RollerTop as a discrete conveyor system that doesn’t block the path and can dynamically be routed to the right place. Compared to a full conveyor system that has to go up and down, this is much more energy and space efficient.
Together with the Ati Fleet Manager that talks to the conveyors, the system is completely automated where the Fleet Manager directs the bots to pick totes from the right conveyors and then drop them dynamically. Apart from manufacturing, the biggest use case is automating the pick to pack process in eCommerce fulfillment centers where picker efficiency is improved by 2X by having Sherpa RollerTop take over the walk to packing. Pickers can pick orders and drop them to the nearest conveyor where Sherpas take over, relieving pickers to get to the next picking task.
